The Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 was organised by ICC in Australia. ICC, along with Sunset+Vine, invested a lot of time and effort into ensuring the production was spectacular, introducing new cameras to Women’s Cricket.
It was a global stage for Quidich to showcase our offerings through the BuggyQam, CopterQam and Spatio. Moreover, these fit right into the ICC’s strategic objective of trying to introduce “visual differentiators” and communicate to a younger audience.
Special cameras have been used in live sport for a long time, but how to use them well, really comes down to how the director envisions the shots as part of the story of the broadcast. Our team had the opportunity to work with a whole host of international directors, who further pushed the boundaries of what was possible with our equipment. The combined effort of all the teams involved paid off, as ICC confirmed that the Women's T20 World Cup 2020 was one of the most-watched women’s sporting events in history.
